Crop on the Cape Teachers

Hello everyone, we are Adele and April, a mother-daughter team working as Independent Makers for Close To My Heart. We both really enjoy the art of scrapbooking and cardmaking and bringing new techniques to the table. Adele has been a part of the CTMH family since 2013. April joined shortly after in 2016, and together, we travel all over the NorthEast to bring the joy of paper crafting to hundreds of people each year.

We have been teaching customers for over a decade through in-person classes, online classes, and through our YouTube Channel, Just Say Scrap. We just started a brand new segment called Make-It Mondays to go along with our Technique Tuesdays and Throw-It-Together Thursdays. We would love for you to subscribe and join us on our crazy and fun journey (and we have outtakes, too!).

We also have a wonderful new VIP program through CTMH, where you can earn FREE products. Feel free to stop by our booth this weekend and ask us all about the wonderful VIP perks! You can check out more on our website at https://adelevaiobeisser.closetomyheart.com. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected]. For pre-orders, please let us know at least two weeks in advance. Looking forward to seeing you soon!

Cheryl Mezzetti, the founder of Perfect Paints, is an accomplished designer and mixed media artist who has worked in the art industry for several years. Formerly, Cheryl functioned as a meticulous Education Director and Design Team coordinator for Creative Imaginations as well as Splash of Color.

Cheryl’s love of art was evident at a very young age, with strong influences and encouragement from her mother, aunt, and grandmother. At the age of just five years old, Cheryl shared her “artistic” abilities by painting her kitchen walls with calamine lotion as if they were a blank canvas! Her love of design, color, and texture only grew from there.

As an instructor, she has taught at a myriad of conventions and specialty stores throughout the United States, South Africa, Canada, and Europe.  Her love of education and passion for Art is mirrored in her unique style of teaching, operating as an encouraging, entertaining, and inspiring professional who focuses on attention to detail and perfection. Enrolling in a class led by Cheryl is undoubtedly a priceless exposure to unique styles of work, as well as personal development for each student within the subject of expertise.

Jen Pitta Bach has been paper crafting almost daily since her first run-in with scrapbooking 23 years ago at a home party. Since then, she has honed her skills and introduced stamping, finding Stampin’ Up in 2006. She has a passion for seeing those first light bulb moments when students realize they can create pretty things, too! Jen has ranked in the Global Top 100 of Stampin’ Up four times and enjoys documenting her incentive trip travels in her scrapbooks and mini albums. You can catch her “live” every Thursday on her Facebook Page, By the Shore Stamping, and on her YouTube Channel of the same name.

Kelly Taylor is a full-time crafter who spends most of her time creating, editing, and producing craft videos and a part-time Police/Fire/EMS dispatcher. I chose to leave the field after 17 years full-time to have more time to be with my family. Speaking of, I am married to a wonderful man named Eric, and we have a crazy 10-year-old, never-ending bundle of energy and a sweet little 2-year-old daughter who refuses to sit still but makes up for it with adorable toddler antics. They have two furry sisters, Molly and Emma. Between the four of them, my house is never clean! My style of card-making is pretty Clean and Simple. I sometimes venture into the Clean and Layered, but even then, my design is not very busy. I do love a good one-layer card, especially if it’s a scene! I’m a big fan of encouraging and supporting each other as crafters because, honestly, kindness is free, and it never hurts anybody 🙂

Lynne Forsythe Headshot

Hello everyone!  Lynne Forsythe here.  I am SUPER excited to be teaching two classes at this year’s Crop on the Cape!  A little about me, you ask?  I have been associated with the paper crafting industry for what seems to be a lifetime!  I LOVE living my DREAM and have held many different positions, from Design Team Member to Design Team Lead, Store Manager to Store/Studio owner, and also a product designer.  I have traveled to trade shows as a buyer, a seller, and a teacher, and my work has been published in MANY Somerset publications.  My design style has evolved over the years, beginning as a Scrapbooker and progressing to a Mixed Media Artist, with one constant theme: Color and Flowers.  I am currently an ambassador for Perfect Paints as a Creative Team Member creating YouTube videos. I look forward to meeting you and sharing my love of Mixed Media and Collage.

Michele Kosciolek has been papercrafting for more years than she can count on two hands.  She is an educator and product designer at Scrappy Chic, a paper crafting store located in Livonia, Michigan. She also just recently started her own small business, Stuff By Belle, where she designs and creates chipboard embellishments and stencils.  She works a full-time job outside of the paper crafting industry, is very involved in her two high school-aged nieces’ lives, loves to create handbuilt pottery pieces, and loves art and creating in general. This will be her first time attending Crop on the Cape as a teacher and vendor.

Nancy Hawes, the owner and designer of Aquinnah Designs, is back teaching two fun classes. Nancy has always been inspired by the ocean. Growing up on the beach, she always and still does search the beach for treasures, mermaids, sunsets, and sunrises. She loves to create unique projects and encourages her students to add their own personal touches to their projects. Nancy has always crafted. As a child, she would turn her treasures into cool art pieces and sell them in local stores. Later, she taught paint classes from her home, had a dream job working as a designer for A.C. Moore, and worked on several company design teams. She also taught classes at local scrapbook stores and senior centers. Nancy lives in Marshfield, MA. Surrounded by marshes and wildlife, that inspires her daily. She is the proud mother of four boys, nine grandchildren, beautiful daughter-in-laws, and three lovable dogs.
